Verbs Followed by -ing Forms
After some verbs we can use an -ing form, but not normally an invi nitive.

Some common verbs that are normally followed by -ing forms:
• like
• dislike
• hate
• love
• enjoy
• mind
• can’t bear
• can’t stand
These verbs and expressions are often followed by -ing:
• I enjoy being alone.
• Why do you dislike living here?
• I don’t like people shouting at me.
• Ani hates ying.
• Regie doesn’t mind working at night.
After love and can’t bear, you can use -ing or to + invi nitive:
• I love meeting people. or I love to meet people.
• She can’t bear being alone. or She can’t bear to be alone.
